"Oh that says DP"
"My butt's like, clenching watching her jam things into things."
This took a quick turn.

Two big takeaways....first is that I didn't realize how much I take for granted how much I don't have to think about from building computers for many, many years and the second one is that she did really well...third takeaway....turn everything upside down and shake the crap out of it to make sure that it's mounted.
MrLino
Gentlemen, dont handle your computer to your girlfriend kkkkk
Em4gdn1m
Yeah... check to see if your GPU is inserted correctly by wiggling it up and down in the pcie slot... that one really made me jump
vinasu maaj
Who needs to waterboard Linus when you can just strap him down and play videos like this on repeat for days
Christina Moran
She did not just shake that case
Mr. Sean Queef
shes so cute.
Chao-Chen Hsiao
im surprised the PCIE slot is not broken by the end of it, the way she tortured that GPU and motherboard man....
AssShaker Studios
Really ask yourselves "Why do they not make all the PCIE slot's metal with better locking brackets for GPU's? As you always wonder...." Is this in right?" as she did right there! Even if your a more experienced builder! I'm in my 40's and have been building computers since DOS day's, and every single time I always forget stuff, I always have to stop and look stuff up, I always have to see if shit's in the right spot, or where does this fan go, or this light for the power, or blah, blah, blah! Many times it makes zero sense the way these are designed! And that says something right there!
vinasu maaj
This was a great video, thanks LTT!
William Mobley
Do you wanna give me anxiety? Because this is how you give me anxiety!
Seriously though. She's actually doing a pretty good job for a first time build tbh. Good job Sarah!
William Mobley
Linus, also a dinosaur. ❤️
sselesU
Linus stress induced brain aneurysm, when?
AssShaker Studios
This just goes to show how lazy the people who designed computers are! The reason I say this should be obvious, but I'll elaborate anyway. Linus said "They should've just made it 10 pins instead so this wouldn't happen, because as I've showed in past videos you can put that in there!" And he's right! The reason why they didn't do it that way isn't because of cost or anything like that....it's because it's easier and less work for us to do it this way, instead of being LOGICAL, they where lazy!
bigboxes
Your ads suck. Stupid topic anyways.
angeloplus4
man if that guide was still up on youtube she might've used it
rtorbs
From what i experienced, the £150 saving on the parts was far outweighed by the warranty/support offered from a pre build......once you've built one whats the point ?
Nacho Rodríguez
I don't know much about computers, but I can notice the pain on your face and your voice

Yes she nailed it. For a first-time builder, let's be honest, Sarah wasn't bad AT All. We've all seen much worse. Points for the Google-fu. There should be a worldwide PSA to not shake motherboards and computers around though. Please. Her look of accomplishment and satisfaction shows why building your own computer is a great thing to do.
However, this was not a video on a beginner building her own computer instead of buying one from a pc builder. Oh no no no. This was actually a video about how much stress and sheer mental anguish the rest of the team could inflict on poor Linus to see if he snapped. This video took poor defenseless Linus 🙄, who is passionate about computers and likes to take charge, and forced him to watch someone who is inexperienced trying to force parts into a motherboard, then shake it (while remembering that the parts come out of his bottom line). This was cruel cruel torture. To be fair to the team, I'm sure he probably did something to deserve it. It was actually more painful to watch Linus watch the build, than watch Sarah build it. Both were entertaining.

“just like i always nail out sponsors” -linus 2021. pure gold.
MrAlkaline
This was a great video, thanks LTT!
Custom PC
I was a professional PC builder for quite a few years and I have definitely duct taped SATA SSDs, forgotten backplates, and I still think mounting the cooler is the hardest part of every build.
I think she did incredibly well.
Custom PC
I have not, however, ever tried to shake a CPU out of its socket. I have given DRAM sticks a solid tug.

Who is this girl? And why does she have heroin voice?

Sorry but I'm here for Linus' pain. This is poetry.

Google & Youtube: DO WE EVEN EXIST, SARAH??!
At least she used a forum, rather than random facebook "pros" that commonly give bass-ackwards info. Props for her positivity.
ACguernica
yes, I'm here again. I usually buy a bare bones set-what I mean by that is something that's got all the parts, but not the parts I want. After that, I slowly replace each piece in the computer with better/updated. By the time I have the Computer I want, it's time to go to the next form factor. Sigh.
Mateusz Tokarski
Honestly, much better than my first build :D

Still way better than the Verge build.

why do motherboards even use IO shields anymore, they should just be part of the board
LA SAUTERELLE
stupid video !! girls give the gamer notebook on the table .
ACguernica
Oh shit, I screamed when she pulled the GPU out like that!!! I felt food start to come up when I saw....god no! GOd noooo!
ACguernica
Still never get used to seeing you with masks on. Feels so.....wrong.
BadMonkeyFinger
I recently purchased a new computer with on-board graphics, and I was thinking about installing a new GPU. Prices seem sky-high, but since i've never really looked for a stand-alone graphics card before, I have no idea what a decent one *should* cost. I'm seeing them for $500-$800+ CAD... that seems pretty steep. Are prices super-high right now b/c of the covid situation (or whatever else), or are they always this pricey?
Lahayed
"I feel like at LMG we just YOLo" 😂😂😂
Brian Erwin
You should just put in all people's contracts that maybe they should watch some PC building videos. At some point they may have to build one.

19:04 i cant even get my hands on a gpu at the moment and seeing this was heart breaking xD
Samy Charradi
Every shake of the GPU made me curl my toes out of pure confused anxiety. 😬

Why the hell are you saying AMD is better? AMD is NOT BETTER! I just had my AMD GPU crash 5x today after an update! BTW it crashes all the damned time! And it doesn't work well with VR at all! Oh and it doesn't work well with Audio at all either! You might think, why does a GPU mater in audio? Well to put the GUI's of your plugins on your screen! Duh! Also you'd be surprised how much everything in you computer relies on and interacts with everything else in your computer! AMD also does not support Thunderbolt! And considering Thunderbolt is a must in Audio(90% of the top audio interfaces are Thunderbolt, and UAD(Universal Audio-which makes DSP boxes that run their plugins over Thunderbolt, they also make THE BEST analog compressor's in history, and the Apollo Interfaces which are the #1 selling interfaces for good reason) is basically all Thunderbolt! And AMD's driver support still sucks! I wasn't able to play VR(after buying the Oculus Quest 2 @ 2020Xmas)on the computer for 2.2 months after buying it and Half Live Alyx for VR because AMD's drivers' are crap! My buddy has the same exact build as I do except for GPU(he's got NVidia)and PSU, and CPU cooler! He's got the same case, ram, and cpu, he's got a better GPU(Nvidia 1070) vs my AMD 590, which I bought on sale last Black Friday to replace my AMD 290x Sapphire card that I bought in 2012 and I had nothing but problems with it, although it was powerful it was full of problems! So I got the 590 for $169 on sale last Black Friday'ish time right before the crazy price blitz that went on with GPU's that is absolutely ridiculous! I won't be buying a new GPU for the next 2-4yrs until prices come way the hell down! I'd instead buy a whole freaking computer and toss out parts like, case, fans, cpu coolers, motherboards, etc. That would be cheaper than putting together a cpu right now! It's just crazy ridiculous! And the companies themselves(I'm looking at you MSI) are taking their cards straight from the factory and selling them to CARD SHARKS to sell to companies, it's illegal and crazy but no one is doing anything about it so it just keeps going on and on! I got the better GPU Cooler(Noctua D15), the better fans(Noctua140mm A14 or something), and PSU EVGA 1300 Supernova G2. He bought a cheapo Rosewill PSU 750watt and it blew up about 2 months in. Luckily he didn't have to replace anything else besides the psu and one of the fans on his Thor V2 case(I've got the same case), although it's a 230mm fan so only Bitfenic makes a replacement for it which sucks cause it's an awesome size fan! Bigger is always better! Don't let the girls lie to you boys! Well unless you've got a 13incher trying to blast her in the ass...then bigger is not always better! Might be a bit much tbh!

Talk about bad idea.. My mom bought all the parts for me and I tried putting it together but fail and messed up one of the things on the cpu. at this point I don't think I even deserve a pc.

"but Intel is cheaper"
I never thought I'd hear those words, I've been away from PC news for too long...
Watching an amateur put a PC together still doesn't give me confidence in trying it myself though.
It's worth trying if you have disposable income, in case you really screw up & break/fry parts.
Also I died inside when she rebooted while it was doing an important setup process, biggest no no.

9:43 I think the same thing every time I look on Device Manager and see all those "Unknown Devices" for which even Windows can't figure out which driver to install.

If you keep computers long-term, always 'overspend' on motherboard. You can upgrade the other stuff over time.

It's easy for you bro. That's your job.

Nowerdays how it is hard to build your own PC at all?
Peperation:
Look for Components and Tests of those Parts just to see what you realy need and get Informations to some Manufacturers like BeQuiet, Intel, AMD, Invidia, Radeon, Samsung, IBM, Toshiba for example.
Sidenote:
Maybe i am Oldschool, but i prefer no mixing Chipsets in my builds therefore i only pair Intel with Invidia and AMD with AMD Radeon Cards ...
Because sometimes some Issues accure if you have an Intel Board and an AMD Card, so in some cases blueschreens accure or Games just crash on you for no aperent Reason... I realy don´t know why that is, but it sometimes happens to People and magicly disapears when you go with an Invidia-Card instead.
Step 1: Set a Budget and pick your Components acordingly.
Step 2: Chose your CPU maybe if it is overclockable or not in case of Intel and look on the Pricetag, then chose your Cooler acordingly.
Step 3: Chose your Mainboard acording to your CPU Socket and needed Features
Step 4: Chose your RAM and fill your Slots up with an reasonable Clockspeed wich is suported by that Mainboard you chosed before.
Step 5: Chose your Graphicscard acording to the Need you have.
Step 6: Chose your Harddrives. A Decent sides M2 SSD and an regular SSD works fine... one for the Windows and Games, the other one for Storage. Maybe you want also an Bluerayplayer/Burner as well.
Step 7: Chose your Case so everything fits in.
Step 8: Chose your Powersupply
Tip:
Manuals include Instructions how to do certain Things and EVERY SINGLE PART, exept your CPU, you order is delivered with one.
Just follow those Instructions.
Usual Setup for that Build:
Tools you Need:
1 small Philips Screwdriver
1 Clipper/small scisor (for Zipties)
Get your Case, install that Powersuply, then the Mainboard, then the M2. SSD, then the CPU and Cooler, then the RAM, then the Graphicscard, then the Other Drives...
Just look at your Cablemanagement while you Build that PC so you have no disturbence of Airflow in your Case and your Cooling isn´t afected by dangling Stuff. Zipties are quite handy for that.

Linus must be reminded of the first times he built a computer, specially the dropping and the checking.

turbokadett
Well done Sarah and I was cringing along with you Linus.
I really enjoyed this but I would have been happy to watch a video twice as long or a serialised version as it felt kinda rushed to me; the title will undoubtedly draw in some people considering their first build so more info on each of the stages (research, resources and build) could of added to the educational side as well as providing for more entertaining moments too.

Glad I got my computer a year ago, paid much less than that for my 1660 super
